Psychotherapy in Warrington Cheshire

Thank you for taking the time to read my page on Psychotherapy in Warrington, Cheshire.

Perhaps you’ve landed here because you are curious about psychotherapy and just want to know a bit more, or maybe you are thinking of getting some help with an emotional problem such as anxiety, stress or low mood.

Psychotherapy is a talk therapy where you sit with a trained and qualified professional, in this case, me. The sessions are normally one to one and usually held weekly (this is of course, flexible).

I mainly incorporate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to help you overcome your problems. This is the treatment of choice for the NHS as it is supported by plenty of evidence of its efficacy. However, as an integrative psychotherapist, I can also use elements of counselling, Gestalt and Ego state therapy. This is beneficial to you because it is the most flexible approach and means if there are elements of one therapy you don’t get along with, then we can adapt it so it suits you!

Psychotherapists

Basically, I am a mental health professional, trained as a psychotherapist in 2009 and I have undergone further training as a CBT therapist (university of Bolton). As a psychotherapist, I am there to listen and understand you without any judgment; I am completely on your side and will treat your case with empathy and utmost confidentiality. Often, people feel better after a first session with me, even a brief chat over the phone can be motivational.

What is involved in Psychotherapy?

I will take a detailed history of your problem on the first session, and look at key areas of the problem and how your problem is maintained.

Together, we work collaboratively, to examine your thoughts, feelings and behaviours by allowing you to talk freely about everything that worries or concerns you.

Then we look at modifying these thoughts, feelings and behaviours using tried and tested methods. The aim being, to return you to a better way of functioning. To help you feel more balanced and relaxed and better able to deal with your thoughts and feelings.

In fact, the ultimate goal for me is to help you become your own therapist! This way, you can continue to deal with your emotions long after we finish our work together.

All in all, psychotherapy is a gentle process and can be very empowering. So if you are looking for psychotherapy in Warrington, or the Cheshire area, and want to rid yourself of bad feelings or mental blocks, just give me a call or send me an email.
